1 per Cent Improvements
One of the mistakes we frequently come across as accountants in Wimbledon during our annual reviews, as well as board meetings. we are invited to attend with clients, is the search for big things which will make a difference.
I do not doubt that big things can make a difference, but by their nature they are difficult to find. However lots of small frequently implemented things can have a dramatic impact on the business, its results and the take-home pay of its owners.
One of the benefits is that these small changes are very difficult to spot by competitors. The big things can be spotted and copied very quickly. Twenty little things are virtually impossible to notice.
In our award-winning practice in London and Wimbledon, we adopt this 1% principle. We do 20 or 30 or 40 things better than the competition. As we do so many of these, they compound to make a massive difference to the service we offer our clients. This in turn brings in many referrals, and better results.
As they’re virtually impossible for the competition to notice, other than through this blog for example, they cannot emulate or compete with us. This gives us many more years of competitive advantage.
Which two or three things could improve your business by 1% or 2%?
